Or Shalom Community Pesach Seder

Sunday, April 13, 2025 15 Nisan 5785

4:30 PM - 8:00 PMUnitarian Universalist Center, 1187 Franklin St, San Francisco, CA 94109

Join Or Shalom for our Second Night Community Seder, a warm and welcoming celebration of freedom, tradition, and connection. We will gather to retell the story of the Exodus, reflect on its meaning today, and share in a festive meal together. This Seder is family-friendly and targeted for people of all ages. There will be opportunities for separate kids programming, as well as many ways to engage kids throughout the Seder.

This is a community pescatarian potluck—Or Shalom will provide ritual foods, drinks, and some main dishes, but we invite you to help fill the table!

How to Participate:
There is no set cost to attend, but we ask that each participant:

  • Bring a Kosher For Pesach dish in reusable dishware that serves 6-8 people for our pescatarian potluck (please provide a full list of ingredients to accommodate dietary needs). For guidelines on what foods are Kosher For Pesach, please go HERE.
  • Consider helping to make this special night possible! Sign up to volunteer for setup, cleanup, or providing ritual items HERE.
  • Please bring wine and/or grape juice for your household and your reusable tableware.

Like Or Shalom’s early days as a lay-led and community-driven congregation, this Pesach Community Seder needs volunteers—and it can’t happen without you!

Everyone is welcome—whether you’re celebrating with family, on your own, or new to the holiday. Come share in song, storytelling, and a meal that reflects our community’s spirit of inclusivity and joy. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Please RSVP by Sunday, April 6 so we can adequately prepare. Let’s make this night different from all other nights—together.

⚠️ Food Disclaimer: To ensure inclusivity and accommodate dietary needs, all potluck dishes must be accompanied by a full list of ingredients.

Written instructions for doing both throat and nasal swabs:

  1. Use a regular COVID-19 test.
  2. First, swab your throat like you're doing a strep test.
  3. Then sample your nostrils as explained in the instructions that come with your COVID test.
  4. Proceed as instructed with the rest of the test process.

Please test at home before the event if you are able to. We will also have a limited number of tests available at the door in case you need them. We will have an outdoor dining option, but the Seder program itself will take place indoors.
